The Story

Born in 1982 as a basketball shoe, the Air Force 1 was the first Nike silhouette to use Air cushioning technology. Designed by Bruce Kilgore, it was retired and then brought back by popular demand — one of the few shoes ever resurrected because people refused to stop wearing it.

Materials

Full-grain leather upper. Perforated toe box. Padded collar and tongue. Nike Air unit in the midsole. Rubber cupsole with pivot circle outsole. Metal dubraes on the eyelets.

Fit & Feel

Runs true to size for most, but if you're between sizes we recommend going half a size up. Wide-footed customers consistently find this one of the most comfortable fits in the Nike lineup.

Sustainability

This pair is manufactured with at least 20% recycled content by weight as part of Nike's Move to Zero initiative.

Questions

Are these good for walking all day?+

Yes — the Air unit provides solid cushioning for extended wear. Many customers wear them for full days without issue.

Do they come in wide sizes?+

Nike Air Force 1s are available in wide (2E) sizing on nike.com. Standard sizing runs slightly generous in the midfoot, which works well for wider feet.
